Rod became a Christian at age 15 and lives in the small community of Lucas, Texas, north of Dallas with his wife and daughter. The Johnsons are blessed to attend and be actively involved with the ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church. A native Texan, Rod grew up enjoying the easy pace of life in a small town combined with regular trips to his grandparents’ farm. Many of his favorite memories originated in his frequent visits there and to the several-thousand-acre ranch where his uncle was foreman and which he and his cousin roamed in search of adventure. These exploits provide the foundations for many of his presentations. In his late teens Rod not only played guitar and provided vocals as a member of the youth evangelism team The Revelation, but got his first taste of speaking by leading personal evangelism seminars for young people in churches throughout the southern and western Unites States. Rod remains an enthusiastic hunter, fisher, and photographer but his passions are his God, his family, and his ministry. He earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a proud member of the Christian Sportsmen's Fellowship and the Professional Photographers of America. His articles appear in The Christian Sportsman, a quarterly magazine with national distribution and the primary outreach tool of the Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship.
